Rubric for Memoir 
After giving the instructions for writing a memoir, students created their own memoir. Our major focus is on showing not telling, figurative language, and sensory details. The most important idea to keep in mind is that it should be your own story and represent a small moment in time.

1st Person Point of View. One controlling idea pertaining to a personal experience

The final draft is hand-written neatly and legibly, on one side of the paper only, and in pen.
Fair

The final draft is handwritten. Not written in pen. Story continues on the back side of the paper. Does not follow required format.
Poor

The final draft is hand-written, illegible, and messy.
