The dancer is energetic and involved the entire length of the song. Overall, they understand the movement and communicate the narrative clearly.
Pretty good.

Most of the the performance indicates confidence, energy and expression. Dancing is okay, perhaps not as together as it could be. Nerves? Overall understanding of the movement and communication to the audience is clear sometimes.
Okay...

Performance indicates some confidence, energy and expression. There are moments when dancer seems to not know what they should be doing.
Unrehearsed? Overall understanding of the movement, their own body as an instrument of communication and clarity is shotty.
Not so much.

Performance indicates little confidence, energy and some expression.
The steps and patterns dancer has chosen are very basic.
Creativity

YES!

Performs with a distinction and style.
Very interesting and kept the audience's attention.
Pretty good.

Typically performs with distinction and style, though there may be lapses.
Somewhat interesting but does not always keep the audience engaged. Emphasizing favorite steps or flashiness. Transitions are apparent, movement inconsistent.

Sometimes performs with distinction and style.
A bit boring and audience shows little interest.

Rarely demonstrates expression and style. Just goes through the motions.
Dance was not very interesting and lacked the audience's attention.
