Skulls & The Elements of Art 
Artists will create a design that demonstrates their understanding of the elements of art (line, shape, color, space, form, space, and texture). The work should demonstrate skills of accuracy drawing a skull from observation and creativity to incorporate the 7 elements within the background. Students are encouraged to incorporate ideas that reflect their personality, heritage & interests.

The student shows an undeveloped knowledge and application of the elements of art and/or project may not be finished.

The student follows the directions precisely with no deviation.

The student follows the directions with no deviation.

The student follows the direction with some deviation.
Level 1

The student does not follow the directions.
Craftsmanship & Composition

Neatness demonstrated through designing, drawing, coloring, using paint, markers, tape, colored pencils, crayon, etc.

Level 4

Excellent craftsmanship is demonstrated throughout the process of the project. Work exceeds expectations for organization of the components of the whole.
Level 3

The student demonstrates good craftmanship and neatness when using chosen art materials. Work meets expectations for organization of the components of the whole.
Level 2

Craftmanship and neatness is not consistant. Work covers a few expectations for organization of the components of the whole.
Level 1

The student does not make efforts to neatly use art materials. Work does not meet expectations for organization of the components of the whole.
Attitude/Use of Class Time

Level 4

Student demonstrates excellent attitude and work skills. Time is used wisely each class with no distractions.
Level 3

Student demonstrates good attitude and redirection is infrequent.
Level 2

Student is distracted and /or not doing assignment and needs reminders about task. Talking more than working in a distracting way.
Level 1

Student is at times argumentive and/or uninvolved.
Student Citizenship/Critique

Level 4

Student follows all classroom expectations independently. The student engages fully in whole class and personal critique and offering of feedback with peers.
Level 3

Student follows class rules well, redirection is rare. The student engages some in whole class and personal critique and offering of feedback with peers.
Level 2

Student needs reminders to focus/revisit directions/expectations; The students barely participates/engages in offering feedback to peers. Offers little to no feedback for critique.
Level 1

Student has much difficulty following classroom expectations for engagement and does not participate in critique.
