Final Project - Theatre design - Director 
Students read a chosen script. Working as a team, they determine an approach to the project and take on roles of Director, Producer, Lighting Designer, Set Designer or Costume Designer.

The speaker is competant, speaks audibly and appears to know what they are talking about.

The speaker is hard to hear at times, eye contact is infrequent and is not totally knowledgeable about their presentation

The speaker is not audible, doesn't make eye contact, is fidgity, and has little or no knowlege of their subject.
Demands of Script

Evidence of research and analysis being put into action through design. Do the designs meet the needs and given circumstances of the script.

The director gives a complete summary of the play. The design concept makes sense with the time/place/style of the script.

Presentation - Ground Plan

Is the design clean and crisp. Is it presentation ready? Has effort been made to create a clean product?

The ground plan is clean and attractive. It is obvious that time and effort have been spent creating them.

The ground plan is neat, and there has been time spent creating them.
Fair

The ground plan was created with little effort. It is not neat.

Costume & Props

Has time period and movability been taken into consideration? How does that tie in with the set design.

Excellent

There is evidence that a great deal of thought has been incorporated into the design. The designer has a unique or thoughtful take on costume and props. .
Good

There is evidence that some thought has been incorporated into the design. The designer has attempted to look beyond the script demands.
Fair

There is indication that there was use of the script demands. There are a couple of ideas about costuming but no props.
Needs Improvement

There is not a tie in with the script demands. There is little thought about the costume or prop needs.

There is no indication that the demands of the script were considered or thought regarding costume and props
Producer Information

Is the producer informative and clear? Did they follow the prompt and include information?

Excellent

All elements are clean, neat, detailed, and it is evident that clear choices have been made. It appears as though student spent an exceptional amount of time getting the assignment "just right".
Good

Slides are created neatly with some focus on the detail and technique. Clear choice has been made, though not fully executed. One aspect is forgotten
Fair

There is evidence of a process. The slides are finished but do not demonstrate a strong focus on detail nor contain all of the information. It appears as though the student rushed to complete the assignment.
Needs Improvement

The poster slides appear disconnected from the Directors vision. Look as though student ran out of time to complete the assignment. Missing 3 or more aspects
Poor

The slides are only a rough draft or very sloppy. Did not find sources for funding nor did they establish audience connection.
Budget

Did you stay on budget? Did you spend to much? Did you waste money? Does your return match your borrowing

Excellent

Students were able to earn plenty of money as well as use it wisely. They did not go over budget but also do not have an extreme surplus. Everybody was paid fairly.
Good

Students were able to ascertain small portions of money but still enough to afford 80% of things wanted. They did not go over budget but may have had a bit of surplus.
Fair

Students went slightly over budget or had a wide range of surplus but were still able to produce a good production and everyone was paid semi fairly.
Needs Improvement

Students went far over budget or had lots of surplus. They also did not pay staff fairly.
Poor

Students strayed very far from budget and spent money incorrectly. Staff was not paid at all.
