This speech meets the time requirement.	Emerging The speech is not from a real historical or literary source, but is from a source that has value. It took some thought to find it.	Insufficient The speech is not from a real historical or literary source, is insufficient in length to measure the qualities of content. It is really not a good choice for a rhetoric speech.
Performance	Exemplary The performance includes the purposeful use of inflection and volume to emphasize and reinforce key words and ideas effectively. the speaker took time to prepare visual aids.	Proficient The performance includes appropriate use of inflection and volume to bring attention to key words and ideas. The speaker practiced for this presentation.	Emerging The performance includes limited use of inflection and volume to reinforce key words or ideas. Some practice was required for this speech.	Insufficient The speech is too short to properly assess the qualities of performance or there were no elements of performance present in the presentation of the script. Last minute project.
