Opening Statement Content	Get lost Student presents a position inconsistent with party platform, and/or has no evidence or logic to support it.	In the League Student presents a position consistent with party platform. This position is supported by only one solid piece of evidence and/or logic.	Runner Up Student presents a position consistent with party platform. This position is supported by 2 very solid pieces of evidence and/or logic.	A Winner Student presents a position consistent with party platform. This position is supported by 3 very solid pieces of evidence and/or logic.
Opening Statement Presentation	Get lost Student does not seem to have a clue what is going on.	In the League Student consistently refers to notes, creating "dead air" during their presentation. Student's voice and body language convey uncertainty.	Runner Up Student glances once or twice at notes or stumbles slightly through a statement. Students voice and body language are polite yet assertive.	A Winner Student is able to make argument without once referring to notes or stumbling through a sentence. Students voice and body language are polite yet assertive.
Response Content	Get lost Student has no response.	In the League Student is only able to respond to one argument made by opponent.	Runner Up Student forcefully responds to all but one of the points made by opponent with a valid and logical rebuttal.	A Winner Student forcefully responds to each point made by opponent with a valid and logical rebuttal.
