Rhythmic Transcription Rhythm = symbols that represent note values in a given time signature.	Exceeding Standards Rhythm is transcribed exactly as written - all note values are clearly expressed and identifiable/playable by the performer.	Meeting Standards Most of the rhythms are transcribed as written - most note values are expressed clearly, though some might be hard to identify and perform as intended.	Approaching Standards Some of the rhythms are transcribed, though many are hard to identify and perform accurately.	Not Yet Meeting Standards Most of the rhythms are hard to identify. The rhythm is not clearly expressed and cannot be performed.
Stem Direction Middle Line is the divider between stems up or stems down	Exceeding Standards All stems are pointing in the appropriate direction - third line or above pointing down on the right of the note head. Third line and above pointing down on the left of the note head. (exceptions are eighth note beamed notes)	Meeting Standards Most stems are pointing in the appropriate direction - some are pointing the wrong way or are located on the wrong side of the note head.	Approaching Standards Many stems are pointing in the wrong direction or are on the wrong side of the note head.	Not Yet Meeting Standards Most stems are pointing in the wrong direction or are on the wrong side of the note head.
Melodic Transcription Melodic = pitches on the staff.	Exceeding Standards Melody is transcribed exactly as intended - all note pitches are clearly expressed and identifiable/playable by the performer.	Meeting Standards Most of the pitches are transcribed as written - though some might be hard to identify and perform as intended. Some pitches are not clearly on a specific line or space.	Approaching Standards Some of the pitches are transcribed, though many are hard to identify on a line or space and perform accurately.	Not Yet Meeting Standards Most of the pitches are hard to identify. The pitches are not clearly expressed and cannot be performed.
