The should demonstrate the elements of art in the design. The student should demenstrate a level of complexity to the design.

The print design lacked complexity. It was too simple. The student did not utilize many of the elements of art.

The students print design somewhat shows complexity and use of many of the elements of art.

The students print design mostly shows complexity and use of many of the elements of art.
Excellent

The students print design fully shows complexity and use of many of the elements of art.
Print Quality

The student should have a print that is not faded. The student should have a print that does not have too much ink.

The student applied far too much ink or far too little ink during the printing process.
Fair

The student somewhat applied too much ink or somewhat too little ink during the printing process.
Good

The student mostly applied the right amount of ink during the printing process. The print may be a little faded. The print may have a little too much ink.
Excellent

The student applied just the right amount of ink during the printing process. The print is not faded. The print does not have too much ink.
Negative and Positive Space

The student should have a print that demonstrates the proper balance of negative and positive space. The student should not have too much negative (empty) space.

The students print has far too much negative (empty)space.
Fair

The students print has somewhat too much negative (empty) space.
Good

The students print mostly demonstrated the right balance of positive and negative (empty) space.
Excellent

The students print had an excellent balance between positive and negative space.
Craftsmenship

The student should have a print that is neat, clean, and with no or minimal smudges and fingerprints on the paper. The student should have a print that is in the center of the paper so that it appears balanced.

The student did not create a neat and clean print on the paper. There are lots of smudge marks. There are lots of fingerprints.
Fair

The student somewhat did not create a neat and clean print on the paper. There are some smudge marks. There are some fingerprints.
Good

The student mostly created a neat and clean print on the paper. There is a little amount of smudge marks. There is a litttle amount of fingerprints.
Excellent

The student created a neat and clean print on the paper. There are very few if any, smudge marks and/or fingerprints.
