Projection can be heard clearly for the most part.

Performer has frequent articulation problems and may be difficult to understand.
Poor

Projection needs developing and is difficult to hear; overall clarity suffers.

Performer is quite difficult to understand due to numerous articulation problems.
Physicality/Facial Expressions

Excellent

Actor completely commits to physical choices and facial expressions that reflect the character and objective.
Good

Actor employs appropriate posture and gestures to non-verbally communicate thoughts and feelings.
Fair

Actor sporadically uses physicality and facial expressions; inconsistent.
Poor

Physicality and facial expressions are inappropriate for character.
Characterization

Excellent

Character is well developed and evident. Clear emotional choices. Believable.
Good

Character is somewhat developed but performer may go in and out of character. Emotional choices made; somewhat believable.
Fair

Character may not be developed, but it is evident that the performer is trying.Some emotional attempt but believability suffers.
Poor

Character is not developed and performer lacks understanding of the character. Little emotional attempt; lacks believability.
Overall Stage Presence/Preparation

Excellent

The entire performance is memorized and the performer is confident, poised, and relaxed.Excellent focus
Good

The performance is memorized, but the performer is somewhat uncomfortable - occasionally fidgets, wavers vocally, allows nervousness to show.
Fair

The performance is clearly not memorized, the performer forgets, starts over, fidgets, has vocal wavering, and/or shows little confidence.
Poor

Performer has to read monologue and appears very uncomfortable.
