Has found an item that sounds good and is able to use item to put their short rhythm piece in, so it sounds 'right" with the rest of the junk band

Working Towards rhythm

Has identified what piece of junk they will be using but are still working on finding the best way to use it in the group piece

Has tried several different short rhythm/sounds to fit in with the rest of the group and is working towards this becoming consistent
Good - working at expected level

Is working at the acceptable level required. Can play a short rhythm on their piece of "junk", in time with the rest of the students.
Excellent - above expected level

Has been able to create a unique rhythm that fits into the group's work in just the right section so that it is noticeable and brings something special to the piece.
Able to correct timing

Students are able to stop if they are out of time and then come back into the circle using the correct tempo

Working Towards rhythm

Is working towards being able to stay in time with the rest of the group. Has some trouble, when losing time, to reenter the group and pick up the rhythm.
Working towards - nearly there

Is now able to realise when they have lost the rhythm they have been playing and sometimes can successfully rejoin the group in time. Almost there.
Good - working at expected level

Working at required level. Can successfully stop when their timing is off and re-join the group at the right beat so that they are back in time with the rest of the group.
Excellent - above expected level

Instinctively realises as soon as they have gone out of rhythm and can change their rhythm back to it's original form without having to stop and restart.
Keeps to tempo given by teacher

Is able to listen to main tempo given by teacher and correct themselves if they are too fast or too slow

Working Towards rhythm

Is working towards being able to stick to the 4 beat tempo given by the teacher. Quite often will play faster or slower than the main beat.
Working towards - nearly there

Is usually able to play in time with the 4 beat tempo that is being given by the teacher. If they are faster or slower, they usually can stop and start again in the correct time.
Good - working at expected level

Working at required level. Can successfully keep in time with the 4 beat tempo given to them by the teacher.
Excellent - above expected level

Working extremely well with staying exactly in the 4 beat tempo given by the teacher. Can help students around them to slow down or speed up as required.
Shows good groupwork skills

Able to work as a class to create their own Junk Band performance piece

Working Towards rhythm

Sometimes tried to make their rhythm too difficult/loud and this can create rifts in the group as everyone wants their part to shine. Working on improving this
Working towards - nearly there

Has worked hard to improve their rhythm and bring it down to a short but important role within the group. Listens to others in the group respectfully
Good - working at expected level

Is working at the required level. This student works well with others in their Junk Band group and is respectful of others' opinioins.
Excellent - above expected level

Works exceptionally well with other students. Can show leadership qualities that are undertaken in such a way that their peers respect them being a part of the group and accept their suggestions willingly
