South Asian Literature Media Literacy Project & Presentation

Students will work to create a "tapestry" on a board, which will show the beginning, middle, and end of a story from South Asian literature. Total Marks: /60 Note: Technology can be used instead! (powerpoint, Prezi, Explain Everything, etc.) Producing Media Texts (from the curriculum) 3.4 students in grade 7 will produce a variety of media texts of some technical complexity for specific purposes and audiences, using appropriate forms, conventions, and techniques.

Major characters from the story are probably missing. Characters that are included in the finished product appear to be incomplete, or made in a "rushed" way by the group members. (0 to 11 points)	Fair to Pretty Good Illustrations clearly show the beginning, middle, and end of the story from the heritage comic or book. Major characters from the story are shown. Some variety of materials are effectively used (for example, construction paper, paint, markers, etc). A title of the story is included. A timeline or map is probably included. (12-15 points)	Good-- Excellent Illustrations very clearly and creatively show the beginning, middle, and end of the story from the heritage comic or book. Major and minor characters from the story are clearly shown. A wide variety of materials are very effectively used (for example, construction paper, paint, markers, etc.) The story's title is included. A detailed timeline and map are probably included.
