Indian Dance Rubric 
Instructor assess group efforts in producing group choreography as an assignment in which all members contributed to producing choreography for the task at hand. Assignment was to create a short dance combination incorporating Indian dance elements such as: - Use of an anklet to add sound to the movements. - Specific Indian dance gestures and movements. - Specific meanings that relate to the gestures and movements.

Student is unprepared and unsure of the choreography. There is no sense of timing or direction. Made lots of mistakes. Transitions are very weak.
Performance Skills

Excellent

Student draws the audience in to want to watch them and engages the audience completely through their performance. The audience is engaged through eye contact, facial and body expression, and appropriate and creative use of anklets.
Good

Student communicates with the audience through eye contact, facial and body expression, and appropriate and creative use of anklets. He/she is able to engage the audience through most of the performance.
Fair

Student communicates with the audience through eye contact, facial and body expression, and appropriate use of anklets. Occasionally loses focus.
Needs Improvement

Student is generally focused, but only some attempt is made to grab the attention of the audience with 1-2 of the elements (eye contact, facial/body expression, anklet use).
Poor

Student is not focused on making eye contact or facial and body expression. He/she does not seem concentrated or committed to the performance.
