A rubric that properly evaluates the artistic process of using pencils / colored pencils as an artistic medium. It measures the various phases and approaches that are necessary in the assessment of a project or a work of art.

The artwork shows limited craftmanship. The value scale is flat and blended. the artwork shows limited attention to using light pressure and layers with the colored pencils / pencils. The value scale reflects a limited understanding of creating a highlight, midtones, and core shadows. 11

The artwork shows minimal or no craftmanship. There is little or no evidence attention to detail using light pressure and layers with the colored pencils / pencils. 9
