Singing Posture 
Students are assessed on their posture: a basic singing skill that they must demonstrate to be an excellent singer. Students are assessed in their sitting posture (posture #2) and standing posture (posture #3).

Sitting Posture #2

Poor

More than two elements out of position (feet, knees, back, head).
Fair

One or two elements out of position (feet, knees, back, head).
Good

BOTH feet are on the floor, back is away from the back of the chair, spine stretches up to the ceiling, and head is straight and relaxed.
Excellent

Exhibits good posture and confidence on a consistent basis (for 40 minutes or more of the rehearsal).
Standing Posture #3

Poor

More than two elements out of position (feet, knees, hip, shoulder, head, and chin).
Fair

One or two elements out of position (feet, knees, hip, shoulder, head, and chin).
Good

Feet shoulder width apart, weight even on BOTH feet, shoulders balanced and relaxed, head straight and relaxed.
Excellent

Exhibits good posture and confidence on a consistent basis (for 40 minutes or more of the rehearsal).
