Reading Comprehension Students will draw a picture in the boxes provided and write a short sentence reflecting the beginning, middle and ending of the short story read out loud to them.

Beginning 1 pts Student will draw a picture reflecting the beginning of the story and write a short sentence using proper punctuation.	Poor Student drew a picture in the box, however picture does not relate to the beginning of the story and made no attempt to write a sentence.	Fair Student drew a picture in the box reflecting something in the beginning of the story and made an attempt to write a sentence on the sentence line.	Good Student drew a picture in the box reflecting the beginning of the story and wrote a complete sentence beginning with a capital letter and ending with a period.
Middle 1 pts Student will draw a picture reflecting the middle of the story and write a short sentence using proper punctuation.	Poor Student drew a picture in the box, however picture does not relate to the middle of the story and made no attempt to write a sentence.
