Egg-Citing Story - Book Publishing

Students will write a complete story, using figurative language, and all of the key aspects of writing. Then they will write story on Publishing Kit paper and send their story in to be published.

Organization/Focus/Support	Poor Story does not stay on topic. It has no beginning middle or end. Student does not stay focused on topic. Few if any details.	Fair Story has beginning, middle, and end. Few details support story.	Good Story has a beginning, middle, and an end. Story includes details in order to enhance the story.
Conventions	Poor Story has numerous spelling and grammar errors. There is no punctuation.	Fair Story has few spelling and grammar errors. However, knowledge of grammar is shown.	Good Story has correct use of punctuation with few, if any, errors.
Neatness	Poor Writing is messy. No Illustrations.	Fair An attempt at neatness is apparent. Illustrations are completed	Good Illustrations are completed. Story is neatly written.
Figurative Language	Poor No figurative language is added.	Fair Student includes a few example of figurative language within story, but may not use all of them correctly.	Good Students uses figurative language correctly within their story
