Oral Presentation

The purpose of this rubric is to assess the second grade student's performance on their weekly journal oral presentations, and to monitor their progression throughout the school year. Each week, the class is given a topic to write a journal about. Throughout the week, they are given time to work on their journals and on Friday they present the orally to the class.

Content	Needs improvement The presentation is not about the topic of the week.	Good The presentation focuses on the chosen topic, but does not have great detail.	Excellent The presentation focusses on the chosen topic and has many details and specifics.
Length of Presentation	Needs improvement The presentation less than 1 minute or longer than 4 minutes.	Good The presentation is between 1-2 minutes or 3-4 minutes.	Excellent The presentation is 2-3 minutes.
Posture and Eye Contact	Needs improvement Slouches and/or makes no eye contact with the audience.	Good Stands up straight, but makes inconsistent eye contact with the audience.	Excellent Stands up straight and makes consistent eye contact with the audience.
