Figurative Language Project
Divide white construction paper into eight sections. Using simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification, idiom, proverbs/adages, alliteration, and onomatopoeia you will write a definition in your own words, write a sentence representing the figure of speech/ explain why or how this is an example of that particular piece of figurative language , and an illustration to go with the sentence. Each elbow partner will choose a color pencil to represent their part of the work.

You will find examples of a metaphor, simile, onomatopoeia, personification, alliteration and assonance present in song lyrics. Song lyrics must be appropriate for school. You will need to create seven representations of these examples in some form (poster, power point, diorama, etc...) You will need to include the section of song lyrics you are using somewhere on your representation as well.
