This is a self assessment rubric for the EMT student, to be done after each section of the course. The goal is for the student to identify any issues that might keep them from completing the course. The rubric will be reviewed with the instructor, and any marked differences in how the instructor would've scored a competency will be discussed with the student.

You are to create a public service ad. You have a number of choices as to how to do it. (a tv ad, a movie, a storyboard) A public service announcement (PSA) or public service ad, are messages in the public interest disseminated by the media without charge, with the objective of raising awareness, changing public attitudes and behavior towards a social issue. The PSA must be an issue that Fire and EMS agencies assist and deal with. Please refrain from strictly using law enforcement only issues

Students are to create a timeline (can be horizontal, vertical, diagonal, etc) concerning important events in fire history from early 1700's through 2016. There should be no less than 10 items on the timeline. Students are to include pictures that they believe represent the events on their timeline (you can either cut & paste or draw or trace pictures).

Incident Command known as ICS and NIMS is used to manage an emergency incident, one which may involve a multi-agency response and involvement.

The Presentation Team must present their unit guide, as a team, to the class.

You are to review one of eight articles pertaining to EMS 3.0. The literature review must be within the last year or an article given bt teacher. You should have an introduction, body with examples and conclusion which shows how this information will be used to help you design the proposed investigation. Your references must be included at the end of your paper. Paper must be typed and the APA format used. The literature template also is a guide for student completion.
