Self-assessment leads a student to a greater awareness and understanding of himself or herself as a learner” (Ministry of Education, 2002, p. 3).

Plant growing rubric

Students practice applying their understanding of the compound light microscope to draw a prepared specimen. Students are then asked to use a compound light microscope to create a wet-mount of a letter "e", position letter correctly on the stage of the microscope, students are asked to draw the letter, and determine the total magnification. Students were also asked to create other wet-mount slides of their own human cells... i.e. hair cells and cheek cells.

Students show their findings and proposals about water sustainability at the end of a CLIL project.
