To understand and connect the RESP 4410 key concepts, students are required to write a short reflective journal. Students should critically evaluate the reading and consider how the reading is applicable to the practice of respiratory care. The journal submission must address the following questions: 1. How does the reading apply to your current practice as a respiratory care practitioner? 2. Identify at least one new thing you learned from the reading. 3. What is one question you still have?

Write a short library research paper on topic you were assigned in the form of a scholarly scientific review paper. The purpose of this assignment is to introduce you to the process of critically analyzing scientific research as well as introduce you to scientific writing, literature searches, and citation procedures.

Team Work will be evaluated on the quality of the submission and the degree that the individual participated in the teamwork. This project will the clinical documentation of the recognized responsive behavior(s), the reflection on possible triggers and ways to mitigate the triggers, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, a succinct SBAR description, and recommendations for ongoing care to help reduce the client's responsive behaviors.

Procedures and tools needed for everyday skills on hospitalized patients

Students will assess a neonate in need of resuscitation, and perform the proper interventions to provide effective ventilation and oxygenation.

A satisfactory score is required. If the student has four or less on "Needs Development" he or she will have the opportunity to explain the corrective action in post simulation debriefing. If greater than four "needs development", the student will need to remediate the skill with a scheduled lab appointment.
