Students will create a graphic novel using elements that they learned in class.

To demonstrate how well you can use the graphic novel terms, concepts and devices we’ve discussed this semester to tell your own meaningful, autobiographical story in the form of a graphic novel.

An oral presentation made by students regarding their research project

The student will write ten diary entries in the style of the Diary of Anne Frank. Each entry will be at least 100 words and be as accurate as possible in the area of setting, characterization, and writing style similar to the novel. The student may write as any of the characters in the book. Students will read aloud one part of their diary to the class following submission on the day students turn them in.

This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your Google Slide presentation project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when calculating the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully before, during and after the creation of the Google Slide presentation, to ensure that all intended elements of your Google Slide have been represented and all other criteria have been met.

Students will read weekly chapter assignments and complete a three to five sentence summary for each chapter. They will also complete the main idea for each chapter read. The goal of this rubric is to obtain a better understanding of how to write a great summary and locate the main idea within a chapter, while using prior knowledge and textual features to indentify unknown or vocabulary words.
