How-to Essay
A How-to Essay is a written, step-by-step explanation of a process. Choose a process that you enjoy and write a how-to essay that will help readers perform the process. This will be a five paragraph essay: introduction paragraph, three paragraphs for the body, and a concluding paragraph.

Spelling Word/Sentence Rubric
Write sentences using all fifteen spelling words. All sentences must be at least 7-10 words long. Each sentence must begin with a different word, capital letter and have proper end punctuation. Start each sentence on a new line. Number all sentences. Underline or highlight all spelling words. Make sure two of your sentences are questions (?) and one sentence uses a exclamation(!).

Grammar Writing Rubric
Students will use basic 2nd-5th grade grammar when completing written assignments. This grammar would include: proper capitalization, proper punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, spacing and indentation.
