This is an assessment of a science portfolio that students will have created over the entire semester. Each individual assignment will have already been marked so this is an assessment of the portfolio as a whole. Both the teacher and the student will mark the portfolio according to this rubric.

This rubric will be used by students as a self-evaluation tool. The teacher will also use this rubric to assess student classroom participation and behavior

Using an online comic strip generator or drawing by hand, each student will create a comic strip to show understanding of a specific, assigned mathematical concept. The students will make a simple machine mini-book. They must define each simple machine, tell how it makes work easier, and draw an illustration of each simple machine. There are a total of six simple machines.

Design and construct a simple machine that can help with chores to be done around the home. Simple machine can be one already developed, can be one with minor differences to something already developed or can be an original idea.
