Cooking Lab

Students will research information on ecosytems and prepare a paper with group members to convey information to the class.

The purpose of this rubric is to allow the younger student to know what the expectations are for writing a comparing/contrasting essay. The student will compare and contrast the book Romeo and Juliet to the movie.

The purpose of this rubric is to allow the student to know what the expectations are for writing a comparing/contrasting essay. The student will compare and contrast the book A Wrinkle in Time to the movie of the same name. In preparation for this assignment, the student will have had instruction in the writing process, sentence structure, capitalization, end marks, specific vocabulary words, read the book and viewed the movie.

Students are to write a short story that demonstrates their understanding of the stages of plot and the characteristics of a short story.

This rubric is best used for a project that comes after the students learned about WWII. My students are allowed to pick their own topic and design their own project (with my approval) to best reflect their interests and talents. Each project must have a visual component, and a written component that is 2-5 pages in length.

US History: The end of the year assessment were students were asked to write a 4 to 6 page research paper answering the questions: Does the United States government protect the Civil Rights of it's Citizens?

Rubric for skit presentations in an Exploring Relationships class

Have you ever been watching television when a commercial for another country comes on? The country looks so inviting and pleasant from the commercial that you find yourself wanting to go there. Well your job is to create your own commercial for a country in Latin America. You will be persuading your classmates to go to your country. You may either create a movie from movie maker. Your project must talk about the following things: the physical features, the culture (music, art, celebrations, holidays),food, famous landmarks, and the history. How you do these things will be up to you. On Monday, April 23rd you will be presenting your projects to the class. The project needs to be no shorter than four minutes and no longer than six minutes. Since I will be giving you time in class to work on these, I expect to see a well put together presentation.

Students must view the movie "12 Angry Men" and critically analyze the legal issues brought up in the movie. Students must also provide their opinions based on a series of questions asked in the assignment and show critical thinking and justification of opinions.

Cooking Lab

We give our students several writing prompts during the year to check on their progress.

With students in groups of 3, they will be given a map of Europe. With this map, they will create their own strategy for defeating Germany as if they were Generals in the English army. They will use provided readings in order to assist them. After they create the strategy, they will present it to the class.
