The students had to create a flow map of summary using story elements. The first box has to include the main character and his/her desire. The second box must include some desire of the main character. The second box must include the problem the character encounters. The third box must include the attempts to solve the problem. The fourth box must be the solution to the problem, and there must be a paragraph that accurately summarizes the story with all of the above elements.

Fourth: Why did you like or dislike the book? Fifth: Would you recommend this book to other sixth graders. Sixth: The report should include a summary of the author's overall message and/or the theme of the book.
