Presenters were not consistent with the level of confidence and preparedness shown, but had some strong moments. Preparation was somewhat evident.

Presenters appeared unconfident and demonstrated little evidence of planning prior to presentation.

Was the presentation well organized and easy to follow?

Presentation well organized, well prepared, and easy to follow.
Accomplished

Presentation had organizing ideas, but there were a few gaps that made parts difficult to follow.

Presentation had minimal signs of organization and was difficult to follow as a whole.

Did the presenters engage the audience? Are they aware that they may be addressing people who may not be experts?

Presenters did an excellent job of engaging the audience and accurately explained technical jargon and project specific terms.

Presenters engaged the audience, but did not explain all necessary technical jargon and project specific terms.
Developing

Presenters minimally engaged the audience and explained less than 50% of the technical jargon.
Unacceptable

Presenters failed to engage the audience (audience seemed unnecessary to the presentation) and did not explain technical jargon.
Visual presentation

Exemplary

Slides clear and uncluttered with lettering large enough to be seen. Diagrams and photos clearly labeled.

Slides clear, but contain a few distracting transitions or unnecessary graphics.

The purpose of the project is defined, but the reason for completing the project is vague.
Those who could benefit from the results are alluded to.
Developing

Purpose is loosely defined and no reason is given for the importance of the project.
Unacceptable

Purpose is not defined nor connected to application beyond the classroom.

Shows how the question was explored (connection of project to question).

Evidence has some concrete aspects, but contains opinion and general commentary.

Evidence has little concrete aspects and is mostly opinion.

Some supporting detail and evidence is shared, but is not organized in a way that will enable results to be apparent.

Presenters do not connect results with original question or purpose.
COLLABORATION
Contribution

Did everyone contribute to the presentation? Did everyone seem well versed in the material?

Teammates always worked from others’ ideas. It was evident that all of the group members contributed equally to the presentation.
Accomplished

Teammates worked from others’ ideas most of the time. Appeared that everyone did some work, but only some were carrying the presentation.
Developing

Teammates sometimes worked from others’ ideas. However, it seems as though certain people did not do as much work as others.

Teammates never worked from others’ ideas. The presentation was carried by one person.
