Art 9-12 - Repetition with Variation Project Art 9-12 - Repetition with Variation Project Students were asked to choose a small object and then draw it from many different angles. They were asked to look at the object from many different perspectives. They were asked to use a complete tonal range from whitest whites to darkest darks and to explore a variety of shading techniques using color theory. Craftsmanship	Excellent The paper is sectioned well into 12 boxes of equal size. Lines are straight. All errant lines have been erased.	Good The paper is sectioned well into 12 boxes with some variation. Lines are straight and all errant lines have been erased.	Fair The paper is sectioned into 12 boxes. Lines are crooked and errant lines have not been erased.	Poor No attempt at completing the criteria.
Observation	Excellent Student has drawn one object in 12 different ways carefully and from observation. Attention to detail is apparent. Or Student has drawn one object from 12 different ways carefully. The student found several sources online to accurately portray the object from different angles.	Good Student found a source online or from observation but was limited in the variation of angles. Many boxes looked too similar and lacked detail.	Fair Student has drawn an object in 12 boxes. Little variation in angles and lacks detail.	Poor No attempt at completing the criteria.
Color Theory	Excellent Student used a different color scheme in each box to color the object and background. Each box is labeled correctly.	Good Student used various color schemes but repeated some.	Fair Student used some color schemes but most are repeated or random.	Poor Colors were chosen randomly. No attempt at completing the criteria.
Values and Shading	Excellent A full range of values were created by mixing the compliments to make shadows and white to make highlights. The objects look 3D.	Good Some objects have been shaded correctly or the objects are shaded, but without the compliment. Work looks 3D for the most part.	Fair An attempt was made to shade the objects but over 70% of the project is not shaded.	Poor No attempt at completing the criteria.
Composition	Excellent Object takes up at least 2/3's of each box. Color is applied neatly and consistently.	Good Most boxes are filled 2/3's. Color is applied neatly for the most part. A few drips and/or bleeds.	Fair Some boxes are filled. Paint is not applied neatly. Several rips, ragged edges, paint outside the lines, bleeds, are apparent.	Poor No attempt at completing the criteria.
