	Poor 15 pts	Fair 20 pts	Good 25 pts
Preparation	Poor Uses group and class time productively. Little or no off task or down time. Teacher may have to warn student about behavior.	Fair Uses group and class time productively. Little or no off task or down time.	Good Uses group and class time productively. No off task or down time.
Proper Technique	Poor Performs step segments properly (tempo, 8 count steps, smooth transitions). 3 or 5 errors.	Fair Performs step segments properly (tempo, 8 count steps, smooth transitions). 2 or 3 errors.	Good Performs step segments properly (tempo, 8 count steps, smooth transitions). 1 or no errors.
Participation	Poor Participates fully in step class. Provides little or no instruction time.	Fair Participates fully in step class. Instructs clearly and loudly thoughout most of the class.	Good Participates fully in step class. Instructs clearly and loudly thoughout the entire class.
Time Requirement	Poor Instuction time is shortened by 2-5 minutes. ( 3 minute warm up, 6 minute step, 1 minute cool down)	Fair Instuction time is shortened by 1-2 minutes.
