	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts
Discussion post length	Poor 1-2 sentences, does not expand on ideas.	Fair 3-4 sentences, little explanation.	Good 6 or more sentences, fully explains with evidence.
Replies to dicussions	Poor Does not reply to other students discussion posts.	Fair Replies to 1 other students discussion post, with little input.	Good Replies to 2 other students discussion posts, and brings value to the discussion.
Focus on topic	Poor Discussion post has little to do with discussion topic.	Fair Discussion post has some level of focus, but deters from topic.	Good Discussion post is on topic, and may even make references to the book or other material.
Extends conversation	Poor Replies to discussion posts with short comments such as "I agree".	Fair Contributes to conversation, but with little thought put into it.	Good Furthers conversations by asking good questions, or relating posts to a reading material.
