Badminton Badminton Skills (MS) Class participated in a Badminton unit which mostly consisted of doubles game play. Emphasis was placed on serving, game rules, strategy and shot variety. 	Novice 2 pts	Beginner 3 pts	Good 4 pts	Excellent 5 pts
Serve	Novice Never was able to successfully serve.	Beginner Sometimes was successful in serving underhand, but not consistently.	Good Often was consistently successful in serving underhand.	Excellent Almost always was successful in serving with the official backhand serve.
Game Play	Novice Never knew the rules and never was in a ready position for receiving.	Beginner Sometimes knew the rules and was in a ready position on defense.	Good Often demonstrated an understanding of the rules and was mostly in a ready position on defense.	Excellent Almost always understood the rules of the game and was in a ready position for receiving most of the time.
Shot Variety	Novice Never mixed up shots during game play.	Beginner Sometimes mixed up shots during game play.	Good Often mixed up shots during game play and showed an ability to move the defense around.	Excellent Almost always mixed up shots during game play and showed an ability to move the defense around.
Teamwork	Novice Never worked with partner during game play and played with no communication.	Beginner Sometimes worked with partner during game play and communicated on a minimal basis.	Good Often worked with partner during game play and mostly communicated while moving from "T" to "I" formation.	Excellent Always demonstrated teamwork with partner by communicating while moving from "T" to "I" formation and showing good support.
True Sport	Novice Never demonstrated being a true sport.	Beginner Sometimes practiced being a true sport by showing good sportsmanship but not all the time.	Good Often practiced being a true sport by showing good sportsmanship.	Excellent Always practiced being a true sport by showing good sportsmanship, even after a loss.
