Time & Effort	Excellent The student spent all time in class wisely working on project. The student was able to successfully complete the project in the time provided and participated actively in class.	Good The student was able to finish the project but more time could have been spent working on the project than socializing with peers.	Fair The student did not complete the project and it appears to have been rushed and is messy. The student was socializing in class and not following instructions.	Poor The student's project is not completed. The student did not use class time wisely and caused disruptions several times.
Attention to Theme	Excellent The student clearly understood the project guidelines and his/her project correlates with the story "The Cat and the Bird." The student designed their dog/cat using warm and cool colors appropriately.	Good The student seems to understand the project theme and drew their dog/cat but used warm and cool colors in wrong sections.	Fair The student does not seem to understand the project theme. The house is completed but barely resembles a dog/cat. The appropriate colors were not used.	Poor The student did not draw a dog or cat and did not color using any correct warm or cool colors.
Neatness	Excellent The student was very neat in finishing his/her project. Class time was used wisely and student has colored in project neatly with oil pastels/crayons. The student's piece has little to no smudging or tears.	Good The student was neat in finishing his/her project, but there are some minor smudges and tears. The student may have rushed towards the end of creating the project.	Fair The student rushed on project and it is not neat at all. The student's project has rips and tears and or smudges.	Poor The student did not complete the project and there are numerous rips and tears. The student seemed to scribble all over project.
