Starting Position	Needs Improvement - Student attempts but fails to understand how to start a shoulder press lift	Developing - One of the elements are missing from a "good" starting position. - Elbows might start a little lower than shoulder	Meets Expectations - Elbow, arm and shoulder are at a 90 degree angle. - Back is straight - Feet are positioned flat on the floor.	Exceeds Expectations - Elbow, arm and shoulder are at a 90 degree angle. - Back is straight - Feet are positioned flat on the floor.
Upward Movement	Needs Improvement - Student attempts, but fails to show understanding of the upward movement of the shoulder press.	Developing - Arms go up, but might go out at an angle, or out of control.	Meets Expectations - Arms move straight up. - Elbows finished mostly extended. - Movement is under control most of the time.
