Catching

Level 2 developing

Eyes closed or turn head away from ball.
Does not move to catch ball.
Catches ball with straight arms away from body or traps ball between body and arms.

Eyes on ball but may flinch.

Eyes on ball and tracks object.

Underhand Throw

Backswing with no follow through.

Steps forward with correct foot.
Full back swing and follow through most of the time.
Coordinated arm motion with release.

Throws with proper form steps with opposite foot from throwing arm consistently. Demonstrates power and consistent accuracy.
Full back-swing and follow through with timed release.
Overhand Throw

Level 2 developing

Slight front to back stance.
Steps with wrong foot.
Minimal trunk rotation or bends forward.
Inconsistant accuracy.
Level 3 consistent

Stands with side to target.
Steps with correct foot.
Consistent trunk rotation.
Incomplete follow through to target.
Level 4 Advanced

Throws with proper form steps with opposite foot from throwing arm consistently. Demonstrates power and consistent accuracy. Follow through by letting arm come across opposite side of body. timed release.
