Basic understanding of technique (ie. footwork, quality of movements, body positions) demonstrated in performance. Several technical errors are made while performing.

Dance performed with attention to most details of technique and Brain Dance Patterns, but hasn't attained proficiency in African Dance dance style yet. Some technical errors.
Proficient

Dance performed with attention to details of technique and Brain Dance patterns, has attained proficiency in African dance style.
Exemplary

Dance performed with great attention to quality of movement, body position, Brain Dance Patterns. Also demonstrates an excellent understanding of African Dance dance style.
Performance Skills

Beginning

The dancer is generally focused, but only some attempt made to communicate with others on stage or audience.
Developing

The dancer communicates with other dancers and audience through eye contact and facial and body expression. Occasionally loses focus.
Proficient

The dancer communicates with other dancers and audience through eye contact and facial and body expression. Is able to engage the audience.
Exemplary

The dancer creates a believable character on stage and is able to engage the audience completely throughout their performance.
