I would like to improve on my skills utilizing student self-reflection. This can be accomplished with the e-portfolio I am working on learning more about.

Again, I felt the integration of technology with the Endangered Species Research Report allowed for relevant learning experiences and promoted student learning not only about animals but introduced students to research papers.

Again, the development of the Endangered Species Research Report allowed students to investigate and choose the endangered animal they wanted to report on.

Knowing that some students do not have access to computers or internet at home, allowed time during the school day for students to research their animals and brought in books from the school library and the public library. Again, knowing that some students may not have access to public libraries or even have a library card.

While completing this two week research report, reflection informed me that I needed to give students more time and I needed to do more mini-lessons on such things as plaguerism, citing sources, paraphrasing, etc. I created a rubric to help organize students.

This is one of the reasons for taking this class, to be more informed about technology and how to incorporate technology into the classroom with more fluency.

Collaboration is a huge part of teaching. Not only for the teacher but is beneficial for students. Getting advice from others with more strengths in these areas benefits everyone.

As a substitute teacher and student teacher, many communications had to go through the classroom teacher. I feel comfortable with sending emails to parents, etc. but need to learn more about using twitter, facebook, etc.

Originally in my lesson plan I did not allow time or plan time to teach on this subject. However, even though I was not going to evaluate them on how students cited or plaguerized, I did see the need to introduce them to this knowledge as that was the main purpose - introducing students to the aspects of research reports.

Even though improvement can always be done (learner-centered strategies). I feel I did a good job of keeping students' diversities in mind and allowing for extra access to technology within the class time.

Communication via digital tools was not part of the research report or any other lessons during my teaching time with the students. Again, this is an area I had hoped to gain more knowledge in while taking this class.

Again, my goal is to improve in this area by taking this class. Even though the teacher I long-term subbed for and student taught with did not incorporate any technology in the classroom, I felt she learned from me.
