Spirit Tree Sculpture Wire Tree Sculpture This project combines the Art Elements of LINE with FORM. Student will research trees and their meanings throughout art and different cultures. Attention should be paid to expressiveness, symbolism, motion, balance, and variety of form and fluidity of line. Craftsmanship	Poor The tree is flimsy and poorly constructed. It Does not stand up on its own. Connections between trunk and limbs is awkward and poorly constructed.	Fair Wire tree is adequately constructed. Stands up reasonably well. Demonstrates that some effort was taken to make connections between trunk and limbs fluid	Excellent Wire tree is very well put together,stands up well and excellent attention to details of construction
Effectiveness of Design	Poor Tree does not have a feeling of movement, strength, or fluidity of line. Not well planned.	Fair Tree is beginning to have a feeling of movement and is expressive.	Excellent Tree has definite feeling of movement, is expressive and has a visual strength achieved through knowledge and application of the Principles of Design.
Understanding Concepts	Poor Student did not demonstrate an understanding of the concepts of Line, Form and 3 dimensional art	Fair Student demonstrated a basic understanding of the concepts of Line, Form but had trouble in translating that into 3 dimensional art	Excellent Student demonstrated a thorough understanding of Line and Form and was able to translate that into a 3 dimensional sculpture
