BATTING	POOR Demonstrates poor hitting cues Incorrect stance Rarely connects bat and ball Regularly gives up before being successful Attempts hitting from T	NEEDS IMPROVEMENT Demonstrates an awareness of hitting cues, correct. Some aspects of stance may be correct - feet apart, side on, lean back with back knee bent & front straight, correct hand grip, bat high off shoulder Hits up to 40%	SATISFACTORY Demonstrates correct body stance, hand grip and keeps his/her eye on the ball. Swings through the ball and connects up to 60% of the time	GOOD Correct stance and swing, has power to hit the ball reasonable distance. Is beginning to recognise when pitches are balls or in the strike zone and tries to coordinate swing accordingly. Swings through ball up to 70%	EXCELLENT Consistently demonstrates proper hitting cues and hits balls in the strike zone 80% of the time. Ban hit balls to the outfield and cab bunt correctly
BASE RUNNING	POOR Attempts to run to first base but may be fielded out Can be unsure of when to run other bases when achieves the first	NEEDS IMPROVEMENT Attempts to run to first base and gets there up to 40% of the time Requires teammate instruction/direction to successfully run the bases to make a home run	SATISFACTORY Runs to first base and does not overrun it, does not attempt to steal. Runs hard and confidently to first and makes it up to 60% of the time Tries to stay on base while batters are hitting	GOOD Stays on base until the ball is hit, runner touches every base while running the diamond, runs hard to each base 70% of time. May attempt to steal	EXCELLENT Base runner focused on game, stays on base till balls hit, runs hard and touches all bases in correct order, may steal, calls out to help/direct other teammates. Home run up to 80%
