Demonstrates and applies correct ready position throughout games, keeps eye on the ball and catches accurately at up to 80% including grounders and fly balls
EXCELLENT

Consistently in ready position, always uses 2 hands to catch grounders and fly balls confidently and safely.

Demonstrates an awareness of hitting cues, correct. Some aspects of stance may be correct - feet apart, side on, lean back with back knee bent & front straight, correct hand grip, bat high off shoulder

SATISFACTORY

Demonstrates correct body stance, hand grip and keeps his/her eye on the ball. Swings through the ball and connects up to 60% of the time
GOOD

Correct stance and swing, has power to hit the ball reasonable distance.
Is beginning to recognise when pitches are balls or in the strike zone and tries to coordinate swing accordingly. Swings through ball up to 70%
EXCELLENT

Consistently demonstrates proper hitting cues and hits balls in the strike zone 80% of the time.

GOOD

Stays on base until the ball is hit, runner touches every base while running the diamond, runs hard to each base 70% of time. May attempt to steal
EXCELLENT

Base runner focused on game, stays on base till balls hit, runs hard and touches all bases in correct order, may steal, calls out to help/direct other teammates. Home run up to 80%
GAME PLAY

POOR

Little to no understanding of the rules
Needs constant reminders/demo's of correct skill/body movements
Reluctant participant at times
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

Shows an awareness of basic rules and aim of the game
Requires some encouragement to correctly apply learnt skills and movements
Can be disrespectful to other players
SATISFACTORY

Follows most rules correctly and willingly participates
Can get upset or show negativity towards opponents if not playing well
Tries to incorporate new skills correctly
GOOD

Understands the rules as taught thus far
Participates actively with a positive attitude
Plays safely and wears safety gear at all times
Encourages own team actively and performs skills /cues successfully
EXCELLENT

Consistently interprets and explains rules and plays to teacher and others, encourages and helps others with skills and during play
