Magical realism photographs
Themed photographs rubric
Magical realism is an artistic movement originating in Latin America that was inspired by the surrealist movement that swept through Europe in the 1920s and 30s. Photos incorporating magical realism tend to have a dream-like quality, and feature a strong use of negative space and an interesting point of view. It is also important to play with your subject in an effort to fill your frame in unusual ways. Each student must produce 5 magical realism photographs, 2 of them must be symmetrical.
