Basketball
	Emerging 1 pts	Developing 2 pts	Proficient 3 pts	Extending 4 pts
Dribbling	Emerging -Student cannot dribble the basketball with control while moving -Dribbles with palm of hand -Rigid stance, knees not bent.	Developing -Student can dribble the basketball while moving -Does not have good control -Cannot dribble with head up -Sometimes dribbles with finger pads	Proficient -Student can dribble the basketball with good control and usually with proper positioning -Student dribbles with head up most of the time -Student dribbles with finger pads, knees bent	Extending -Student can dribble the basketball with excellent control and always has proper positioning -Student always has their head up while dribbling -Student can successfully dribble around people and do tricks
Passing	Emerging -Student cannot pass the ball successfully using the passes learned in class. -Student does not move around to get open for a pass -Student does not pass the ball to other players	Developing -Student sometimes passes the ball successfully using the passes learned in class. -Student sometimes moves around to get open for a pass but needs prompting from teacher - Student sometimes passes to other players but needs prompting from the teacher	Proficient -Student passes the ball correctly using the passes learned in class. -Student usually is moving round to get open for a pass -Student usually passes the ball to other players	Extending -Student has excellent passing skills and uses a variety of the passes learned in class. -Student is always running around the court to get open for a pass -Student always passes to all players on their team regardless of their skill level
Sportsmanship	Emerging -Student is not able to play the game even with continuous teacher support -Student has a negative attitude and will quit the game if not winning	Developing -Student is able to play the game fairly but may need some teacher support -Student may argue with teammates	Proficient -Student plays the game fairly and follows the rules -Student encourages their teammates to do their best	Extending -Student shows leadership and sets an example to other students on how to play fairly. -Student always encouraged teammates to try their best and boosts the team up with positive talk
