Event successfully completed at the Track & Field Meet	Excellent (Level 4) Student has excellent form & mechanics and successfully competed in the Track & Field meet.
1600m	Poor (Level 1) Student rarely completed running long distance in Gym class.	Fair (Level 2) Student sometimes uses correct body mechanics and completed event in gym class.	Good (Level 3) Student has good form & mechanics. Event successfully completed at the Track & Field Meet.	Excellent (Level 4) Student has excellent form & mechanics and successfully competed at the Track & Field meet.
800m	Poor (Level 1) Student rarely completed running long distance in Gym class.	Fair (Level 2) Student sometimes uses correct running mechanics when doing this event in class. Good (Level 3) Student runs assigned relay leg with solid effort and with efficient handoffs.	Excellent (Level 4) Student runs relay leg with strong effort and successfully competed at the Track & Field meet.
Clothing	Poor (Level 1) Student wears inappropriate clothing for practice or competition.	Fair (Level 2) Student wears basic athletic clothing but forgets proper footwear.	Good (Level 3) Student wears appropriate athletic lthing and footwear with no reminders.	Excellent (Level 4) Student always wears appropriate athletic clothing and serves a positive example.
Race Strategy	Poor (Level 1) Student shows little understanding of pacing or race strategy.	Fair (Level 2) Student attempts to follow race plan and has basic awareness of pacing.	Good (Level 3) Student follows race strategy and demonstrates awareness of lap splits and positioning.	Excellent (Level 4) Student has a intentional race strategy throughout the race and maintians controlled pacing.
Sportsmanship	Poor (Level 1) Student displays disrespectful behavior toward teammates.	Fair (Level 2) Student is generally respectful but behavior is inconsistent.	Good (Level 3) Student demonstrates respectful behavior toward teammates and coaches.	Excellent (Level 4) Student demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship.
Resposibility	Poor (Level 1) Student comes unprepared for practice.	Fair (Level 2) Student follows expectations inconsistently/	Good (Level 3) Student is usually prepared for practice and competition.	Excellent (Level 4) Student is always prepared and follows team expectations.
