Line & Pattern Embellished Animal, Bird or Insect Drawings
Using photo resources create a contour line drawing of an animal, bird, fish, or insect of your choice within a natural environment. EMBELLISH the subject and background with patterns (repetitive lines and/or shapes, "zen-doodles", Op art designs, patterns abstracted or taken from existing manmade or natural patterns). Use Sharpies and other markers to create the patterns in Black & White with CONTRASTS of solid black shapes and/or add color to your piece.

Composition/Space

The subject - the animal, bird, fish or insect in it's environment - takes up space across the page in a balanced arrangement. There is not too much empty space. The background is filled with a deliberate and carefully planned area of patterns, shapes or other well-designed embellishments.
