Students will be graded on paritcipation and effort throughout the school year in a variety of activities including (but not limited to): Warm Up, Volleyball, Fitness, Soccer, Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, Handball, Racket games, Basketball, Softball, and Yard games

The effort put into proper stretching prior to activities

Needs Improvement

The students puts no effort into the warm up, is off-task, is unsafe, or does not participate in the warm up
Improving

The student is not on time for the warm up, needs reminded to stay on task, or does not use proper mechanics
Meets Criteria

The student completes the entire warm up with proper mechanics and stays on task
Exceeds Expectations

Above and beyond including helping keep others on task
Skill Acquisition

The effort put into practicing the skills of a sport

Needs Improvement

After a demonstration the student lacks effort in practicing the skill in drills and in game situations and/or is off task
Improving

After a demonstration the student puts forth average effort to perform the skill in drills and games but may not practice skill components as taught
Meets Criteria

After a demonstration the student continually tries to improve his or herself by using proper skill components during drills and games

Rule Comprehension

The effort put into playing by the rules

Needs Improvement

After an introduction to the rules of a sport, the student does not play by those rules a majority of the activity and/or is off-task
Improving

After an introduction to the rules the student participates accordingly a majority of the activity but may not conintually follow rules throughout the entire session

After an introduction to the rules the student participates accordingly for the entire activity session and may even help others stay on task

Team Cooperation

The effort put into solving problems and resolving conflicts

Needs Improvement

The student is a disctraction to others during, is unsafe, and/or brings teammates down during drills and games
Improving

The student may cooperate with the team but cannot problem sovle or resolve conflicts independently
Meets Criteria

The student is a constant motivator to teammates and participates in each activity no matter which team he or she is assigned to

Attention to Instruction

The effort put into paying attention to teacher instruction and following instructions

Needs Improvement

The student is not focused on the teacher during class instruction, is a distraction to others, does not follow instructions, or is off-task
Improving

The student is focused a majority of the time but may become a distraction to others, may not wait to be called on before speaking, may not follow all instructions
Meets Criteria

The student makes eye contact with teacher during instruction, asks questions by raising hand, and follows instructions
Exceeds Expectations
