Using email in classroom

Say what?

Yeah, I've heard about email. Aren't they the same as internets?
That's Cool

Students contact me via email. It's convenient.
I Love It

Oh, I can't live without it. All my communications are done via email. Turn the darn phone off the hook.
It's Overdone

Email is used a little too much. What happened to just picking up the phone?
No way...

Email is not a good communication tool. It's impersonal, confusing, and causes more misunderstanding than anything.
Electronic Tools

Say what?

I really like my electric wrench. But I don't like the fact that I have to recharge it frequently.
That's Cool

I use many tools for my classes. They're great helpers.
I Love It

I'd be lost without them. All my courses are in electronic format. I never see my students... ever. That's how education should be. There's no way around it.
It's Overdone

Online tools have great applications. But they shouldn't be used for everything.
No way...

These tools automate everything to a point that faculty have little or no understanding of student progress. I do everything the old way even though I'm verse in computer applications.
Online courses

Say what?

I try to stay within the course when I drive on the freeway.
That's Cool

I'd like to get more into them.
I Love It

Offline courses are a thing of the past.
It's Overdone

Online course should be done for special circumtances only, not for everything.
No way...

This is the biggest scam perportrated against education.
Word processing

Say what?

I like it. But, it really hurts when my fingers get stuck in a typewriter.
That's Cool

Word processing is a valuable skill. I encourage that in my courses.
I Love It

Word processing is a necessity not a choice. This shouldn't be even asked.
It's Overdone

I'd like to see some handwritten assignments. Students are losing that ability.
No way...

My students can't spell because of word processors. I'm asking them to hand write everything.
Wikis

Say what?

Typo! It should be Kiwis. No, I don't let my students eat in class.
That's Cool

I think there's a real potential for wikis.
I Love It

It's so convenient. Any questions I have, I wiki and get the answers right away.
It's Overdone

Wikis has its applications. There are some uses in education but not much.
No way...

Open editing means little accountability and more garbage in. There's no merit and no practical application for wikis.
Blogs

Say what?

Another typo. Let me guess. It has to do with trees.
That's Cool

I do blogging for personal use. I see some application in education.
I Love It

Blogging is one of the best ways to get students reflect on their outcomes. I use it extensively.
It's Overdone

Some blogging may be okay, but there shoule be strong monitoring of the content by teachers.
No way...

People jump up and down for every new trend in technology. This is just another dying fad for people to say "I exist".
Electronic Portfolios

Say what?

I don't like to change batteries on my portfolio. The one I have works just fine. Thank you.
That's Cool

They seem to be good tools for students. I would like to get more into them.
I Love It

Best tools to manage student learning outcomes and progress. Whoever thought of it is a genius.
It's Overdone

I can see them for art students... maybe. My students do just fine without them.
No way...

I've seen them and I think they're useless.
