Personal Response (6.1)	Poor Student does not extend personal responses.	Fair Student extends personal response but does not explain in enough detail and does not explain reactions to text in enough detail.	Good Student extends personal response and explains basic and initial reactions in some detail.
Evaluation of Text (6.2,3)	Poor Student only gives summation of the text.	Fair Student expresses personal point of view but does not back up view with examples.	Good Student makes evaluations/judgments of text and backs up personal point of view with examples from text.
Understanding of Lang, Form, or Gen (7.3)	Poor Student does not recognize that there are values inherent in a text.	Fair Student recognizes values in a text, but does not identify these values.	Good Student recognizes and identifies inherent values in the text.
