Developing * Some skills noted with good technique, however improvement is still needed. * Student demonstrates some confidence in soccer skills. I.e passing, shooting, trapping etc	Very Good * Obvious soccer skills noted that were taught in class with occasional error. * Technique is adequate to good. * Student shows confidence in his/her soccer skills.	Excellent * Student shows skilled display of proper technique and accuracy with only minor error. * Technique is better than average to advanced. * Student's confidence level is excellent.
Knowledge of Rules	Beginning *Student has little to no understanding of game rules.	Developing * Student shows basic understanding of game rules.	Very Good * Student has good understanding of knowledge of the rules and sometimes is able to use them to their advantage in game play.	Excellent * Student has exceptional knowledge of the rules and frequently uses them to their advantage in game play.
Offense	Beginning * Does not use any offensive strategy in game play. * Does not show that he/she understands the meaning of offense.	Developing * Only occasionally uses offensive strategies and then sometimes only seemingly accidentally.	Very Good * Uses some offensive strategies (i.e. give and go, lead pass, etc.) in appropriate situations.	Excellent * Uses a variety of offensive strategies in appropriate situations. * Can apply tactics in a game to put the opposition under pressure.
Defense	Beginning * Is often caught out of position on defense (either standing at goal line or in front of the mid-fielders or on opponent's side of field).	Developing * Is sometimes caught out of position on defense, but is usually close enough to recover and help.	Very Good * Often maintains appropriate defensive position most of the time and tries to prevent the opposition from getting good chances on scoring a goal.	Excellent * Always in appropriate defensive position (i.e. moving with the play rather than standing by the goal) and prevents the opposition from having good chances on scoring a goal.
