Participation / Effort

Distinguished

Gives maximum effort daily, models a high level of participation, self motivated, encourages others.
Proficent

Consistent daily effort, good level of participation, displays quality movement during activity, stays on task.
Basic

Displays some effort, sits out 1-2 times during class, contributes little to team play, needs reminders to stay on task.
Below Basic

Minimal/poor effort during the activity, little/no movement with numerous excuses for inactivity, socialization interferes with participation. Student only participates when he/she is interested in the activity.
Attitude/Behavior

Distinguished

Student demonstrates positive attitudes, encourages, helps, and leads fellow classmates on a regular basis. Always shows good sportsmanship. Student has a positive attitude with peers and instructor.
Proficent

Student demonstrates positive attitudes, encourages, helps, and at times leads fellow classmates. Always shows good sportsmanship. Student has a positive attitude with peers and instructor.
Basic

Student demonstrates a positive attitude, encourages and helps other classmates. Rarely fools around or disrupts class. At times show good sportsmanship. Student is occasionally negative or uncooperative.
Below Basic

Student disturbs the class, interrupts instruction and others. Typically fools around and shows poor sportsmanship. Student has a negative attitude with peers and instructor.
Promptness

Distinguished

Always comes to class on time and ready to begin when prompted.
Proficent

Almost always comes to class on time and almost always ready to begin on time.

Late - 1 time
Basic

Sometimes late to class and sometimes not ready to begin on time.

Student continues to come to class late and / or rarely ready to begin when prompted.
