Ceramic Whistle

Using the pinch technique, create a whistle in the form of an animal. The finished piece will include at least 2 different textures. Attached pieces must adhere through the firing.

Poor Project incomplete or complete but shows no evidence of understanding of the Elements /Principles of Design.
Creativity 25 pts Student made several sketches working through the whistle design. The design is unique.	Excellent Project finished with originality after thorough experimentation. The completed sketch page with 4 design ideas - is attached.	Good Project finished but not completely original. Problem solved logically. The sketch page is attached.	Fair Project finished but limited development of the animal no evidence of experimentation/ originality.	Poor Project incomplete or complete with no evidence of experimentation.
Craftsmanship 25 pts All attached pieces were scored and slipped and stayed attached through firing. The whistle is clean, finished with detail.	Excellent Project refined with obvious technical intent. Meticulous construction. The animal is clean. Legs, eyes, etc. are well attached. The texture enhances the project.	Good Project mostly refined with some areas that could use additional attention.	Fair Project finished but not very refined. Pieces may have fallen off.	Poor Project finished with no attention to detail. Quickly thrown together.
Effort 25 pts Student gave this project their best effort. They were patient, focused.	Excellent Student used class time effectively, exceeded requirements. On task 90% of the time.	Good Project finished and met all requirements and deadlines. On task 80% of the time.	Fair Project finished with minimum effort/met minimal requirements with no extra effort.	Poor Project unfinished or completed only after many prompts/ideas/ physical help and solutions from others.
