Forearm Pass (Bump)

Skill Cues
* Lock elbows make a flat platform
* Contact ball with both arms at the same time
* Shrug your shoulders, and straighten your knees

Exemplarary/ Exceptional

Student consistently shows proper technique to get into position to perform forearm pass (bump). Student exhibits proper hand positioning, using entire body properly and makes contact with both arms at the same time. Student does not swing at the ball. Student demonstrates accuracy and consistency with passes able to successfully pass volleyball using proper form 8 out of 10 times. Student demonstrates forearm passing to themselves in their personal space 5+ in a row.
Proficient/ Reliable

Student frequently shows proper technique to get into position to perform forearm pass (bump). Student exhibits proper hand positioning, using entire body properly and makes contact with both arms at the same time. Student does not swing at the ball. Student holds ball on palm of non-serving hand, in front and to the side of serving hip, moving serving arm straight back and then forward, showing proper follow- through. making contact with an open hand on the heel of their hand. Non-serving hand is still. Student does not toss ball in the air. Student successfully serves ball over the net and in bounds 8 out of 10 times.

Student frequently shows proper technique in executing underhand serve. Student holds ball on palm of non-serving hand, in front and to the side of serving hip. Student frequently demonstrates moving serving arm straight back and then forward, contact with an open hand on the heel of their hand. Non-serving hand is still. Student occasionally tosses ball in the air when performing underhand serve. Student successfully serves ball over the net and in bounds 6 out of 10 times.
