Replica Art Piece: Color

Poor

Student creates art piece with no focus on color. They have no explanation or reason for why they used each color.

Students will create artwork based off of an Expressionism piece with a little emphasis on color. Students will create a list at the end with colors and the emotion it is showing. Student uses at least 2 colors with emotional meanings.
Good

Students will create artwork based off of an Expressionism piece with an emphasis on color. Students will use color to express certain emotions. Students will create a list at the end with each color and emotion it is showing. Used at least 4 colors with emotional meaning.
Play dough: Distored Images

Poor

Student doesn't use the play dough to help them understand the concept of distorted imagery. Student draws picture with out the support of the play dough imagery.
Fair

Student uses the play dough to help them create a distorted facial image. Student draws the distorted image onto another paper and but fails to add details to support the expressionism style.
Good

Student uses the play dough to help them create a distorted facial image. Students draw that distorted image onto another paper and adds detail to support the expressionism style.
Emotional Masks: Facial Expressions

Poor

Student creates a mask with little emotion expressed. Student gets picture taken but lacks a title to support the mask.
Fair

Students will create their own mask. It shows some characteristics that gives the mask some emotional traits. Students will get a picture and title it with something to do with the emotion.
Good

Students will create their own original mask. The mask must show strong emotional characteristics. Colors must support that emotion as well. Student will get a picture of them with the mask and give it a creative title that supports the emotion being expressed.
Behavior/Effort: Over all

Poor

Student has a negative attitude. Student puts little to no effort in creating each project.
Fair

Student puts in average effort in each of the projects. Has a positive attitude through all of them. Made effort to complete the requirements of all of the projects.
Good

Student participates in all three art studio activities. Student puts forth excellent effort and a positive attitude. In each project student has payed close attention to detail.
